Warranty coverage
Three layers, and it is worth knowing which one you are relying on.
1. Included limited powertrain warranty
Every vehicle we retail includes a limited powertrain warranty at no additional cost. It covers the engine, transmission and drive axle assemblies — the failures that turn a car into a financial emergency. Full terms, duration and any deductible are provided in writing before you sign, and we will walk you through the exclusions rather than letting you discover them later.
2. Remaining factory coverage
Many of our newer vehicles still carry the balance of the manufacturer's original warranty, which transfers with the vehicle. This is genuinely valuable and worth confirming on any car you are considering, anywhere.
One thing to check carefully: Kia and Hyundai's headline 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty applies to the original owner. The coverage that transfers to a second owner is shorter — typically 5 years/60,000 miles. Verify what actually transfers before you let it influence the price.
3. Optional extended service contracts
Available on most vehicles, priced separately and never bundled silently into your payment. Whether one makes sense depends on the vehicle: a naturally aspirated Toyota four-cylinder and a turbocharged German V6 are very different risk propositions, and we will tell you honestly which category the car you are buying falls into.
- Powertrain — engine, transmission, drive axles.
- Stated component — a defined list of covered parts.
- Exclusionary — everything is covered except a listed set of exclusions. The strongest form, and priced accordingly.
What no warranty covers
Wear items, in every contract from every provider: brake pads, tyres, wiper blades, filters, bulbs, clutch friction material and routine maintenance. Damage from neglected maintenance is also excluded, which is why keeping your service receipts matters — they are the evidence that a claim is legitimate.
