List your vehicle here for nothing
Selling privately and tired of dodging lowballers on marketplace? Put it on our site. No listing fee, no commission when it sells, and you keep every dollar of the sale price. We are not a party to the deal — we just put it in front of people who are already here looking at cars.
Prefer a cheque today rather than a process? We buy cars outright too — get an offer.
Four steps, and none of them cost anything
1. Send the details
Fill in the form below with the vehicle, your asking price and how you want buyers to reach you.
2. We verify ownership
We check you are the registered owner before anything goes live. Title or a clear photo of it with the VIN visible.
3. It goes live
Your listing appears on this site for 60 days, clearly marked as a private-seller vehicle.
4. Buyers contact you
Enquiries go straight to you. You arrange the viewing, you agree the price, you keep all of it.
Why we do this for free
Because it is good for us in a way that does not cost you anything. People who list a car with us often buy their next one here. A site with more vehicles on it gets more visitors, and those visitors see our stock too. And a seller we treated well tells people.
What we are not doing: taking a commission, holding your money, brokering the sale, or using your listing as bait to steer buyers onto our own cars. Your listing sits alongside our inventory and is labelled honestly as a private sale.
The one thing to understand: the sale is entirely between you and your buyer. We do not handle payment, we do not transfer the title, and we do not guarantee the vehicle to the buyer or the buyer to you. Meet somewhere public, take payment in a form that cannot be reversed, and complete the title transfer at the tag office together.
What we will and will not list
We will list
- Any clean-title vehicle you hold the title to
- Up to 2 vehicles per seller at a time
- Up to 20 photographs
- Any price you like — it is your car
- Project cars and high-mileage vehicles, described honestly
We will not list
- Salvage, rebuilt, flood or lemon-branded titles
- Vehicles you do not hold the title to
- Undisclosed odometer discrepancies or open recalls
- Dealers or traders posing as private sellers
- Anything we think is a bait price
List your vehicle
Takes about three minutes. Nothing goes live until we have verified you own the vehicle.
Free listing questions
Is listing my vehicle really free?
Yes. There is no listing fee, no commission and nothing to pay if it sells. We run the programme because people who list with us often end up buying their next vehicle from us, and because a lot with more cars on it is a lot more people visit.
Does Carvista take a cut when it sells?
No. You deal directly with the buyer and you keep the whole sale price. We are not a party to the transaction, we do not hold the money, and we do not handle the title transfer — that is between you and your buyer at the tag office.
How long does my listing stay up?
60 days. Tell us any time if it sells sooner and we will take it down the same day — leaving sold cars up wastes everyone's time, including yours.
Do I have to bring the vehicle to your lot?
No. The vehicle stays with you. We publish the listing and pass enquiries straight to you — you arrange viewings and test drives yourself, wherever suits you.
Will my listing appear on Cars.com or CarGurus?
No, and it is worth being clear about why. Those are dealer inventory feeds — putting a car we do not own into them would represent it as our stock, which we are not willing to do and which those agreements do not allow. Your listing appears on this website only. If you want the big portals, list there yourself as a private seller.
What do you need from me?
The vehicle details, honest photographs, your asking price, and how you want buyers to reach you. We verify you are the registered owner before anything goes live — bring or send the title, or a photo of it with the VIN visible.
Will you check the car over?
Not as part of the free listing. We do offer a paid pre-purchase inspection to your buyer if they want one, at the same rate we charge anyone — that often helps a private sale close.
Can I list more than one vehicle?
Up to 2 at a time as a private seller. If you regularly have more than that, you are trading rather than selling, and Georgia requires a dealer licence — talk to us and we will point you in the right direction.
What will you not list?
Salvage, rebuilt or flood-branded titles. Vehicles you do not hold the title to. Anything with an odometer discrepancy or an active recall you have not disclosed. And we will not publish a price we think is being used to bait people into a different deal.
Would you rather just be done with it?
A private sale gets you more money and costs you more time. We will buy it outright today, with a written offer good for seven days.
